At Diversecities, our Law & Advocacy program provides services that are customized to meet our clients' unique cultural needs.

We assist those who wish to connect with available legal resources in the community, while helping them navigate language or cultural barriers in accessing legal services.

OUR SERVICES

Legal Helpline

Our helpline offers general legal information to help you better understand your situation and explore your options. We can:

• Explain legal processes and basic rights

• Help you understand what kind of legal support you may need

We provide information in a variety of legal areas, including:

• Family Law

• Employment Law

• Immigration Law

• Civil Law

• Wills & Estates

• Landlord & Tenant Law

Referral

We help connect you to community resources and legal supports based on your individual needs. Our referral services include:

• Referring you to relevant organizations, services, and community resources

• Referrals for summary legal advice through partner organizations (for eligible clients)

• Providing information about registered interpreters and licensed lawyers to ensure you receive accurate and professional support

• Wills & Estates Services for Seniors – We refer low-income seniors to partner organizations for assistance with preparing:

o Personal Directives
o Enduring Power of Attorney
o Wills

We work closely with trusted partners to ensure you receive the right help at the right time.

1 on 1 Support Services

We provide personalized support to help clients better understand and navigate the legal system. Our services include:

• Assistance with filling out legal forms

• Help with understanding legal documents

• Language interpretation and translation to connect with community resources

• Access to public legal education

* Please note: We do not provide interpretation for court hearings or trials.

Legal Resources & Publications

We publish Chinese language articles, videos, and podcasts in different areas of law, including family law, civil law, wills and estates, landlord and tenant, and employment law.

We also provide limited legal resources in the Ukrainian and Pashto language.
